How This Started

🍕 How It Started — The Pizza Committee 🍕

It all started the way many legendary rivalries do — with two lifelong friends and one very serious argument about pizza!

Danny “The Don” Williams and Mike “The Godfather” McKay have been partners in crime since preschool nap time. But one fateful day as roommate's in Indianapolis, Indiana, their friendship was tested to its limits. The question?

Who makes the best pizza in their hometown — Bruno’s or Rocco’s?

With the honor of South Bend (and their taste buds) on the line, they did what any reasonable adults would do — they tried both. Back-to-back. Slice-for-slice. Sauce-to-sauce. Based on a suggestion by their neighbor Jim Siegel who decided to attend the festivities as well!

And from that glorious day of gooey cheese and heated debate, a tradition unlike any other was born.

The Pizza Committee was established — a sacred brotherhood (and sisterhood) dedicated to discovering the best pizza in every city they visit. Each year, the crew reunites, expands, and embarks on a new pilgrimage — armed with notebooks, stretchy pants, and unreasonably high standards for crust!

Over time, this annual adventure has grown into something far greater than a quest for the perfect pie. It’s about lasting friendships, flavor, and the pursuit of pizza perfection — one city, one slice, one argument at a time.

From South Bend to Chicago, New York to Naples (okay, one day), The Pizza Committee continues its mission:
To eat, to laugh, to debate — and to crown the true pizza champions of the city!

So pull up a chair, grab a slice, and join the tradition. Because in this committee, every bite counts — and every opinion is debatable. 🍕🔥
